FAQs
For a fuller explanation of what we hold to theologically, please see the "What We Believe" page or the Church Constitution and Confession of Faith on our "Doctrine" page. These are all found in the "About Us" section.
Q. What is your worship like?
A. We gather weekly for corporate worship. Our services are about eighty minutes in length. We sing and praise God. Our music is a blend of styles. We read the Scriptures together and hear a good message from God’s word. We promote discussion during the teaching times. After the message is brought, we interact about the teaching and our lives. We challenge each other, pray for each other and try to encourage each other to live a life of Spiritual Worship. We celebrate the Lord’s Supper often. We open with a time of fellowship, and we stick around for a season afterwards. It is our time, as a 'family of God' to celebrate the life, death, and resurrection of Christ together.
Q. What’s important to you?
A. We value the following attitudes, hoping these make us a stronger church: We appreciate the beauty of God. We provide relevant, enthusiastic, biblical teaching. We encourage and advance personal devotion and worship. We know people are our most valuable asset. We serve others as if they were Jesus. We provide a safe atmosphere of honesty and trust, recognizing our sinfulness and God’s graciousness. We delight in the gathering of all generations. We cultivate a warm, friendly, family environment.
Q. What do you believe?
A. We believe in the only true God as revealed to us in the Bible. He is the almighty Creator of all things, existing eternally in three persons − Father, Son, and Holy Spirit − full of love and glory. We embrace the divine inspiration, trustworthiness and authority of the entire Bible, the value and dignity of all people: created in God's image to live in holiness, but alienated from God and each other because of our sin and guilt, and justly subject to God's wrath.
We worship Jesus Christ, fully human and fully divine, who lived as a perfect example, who assumed the judgment due sinners by dying in our place, and who was bodily raised from the dead and ascended as Savior and Lord. We affirm the justification by God's grace to all who, drawn by God, repent and put their faith in Christ alone for their salvation, and the indwelling of the Holy Spirit, who gives to all believers a new life and a new calling to obedient service.
We encourage the unity of all believers in Jesus Christ, manifest in worshipping and witnessing churches making disciples throughout the world. We hope in the victorious reign and future personal return of Jesus Christ, who will judge all people with justice and mercy, giving over the unrepentant to eternal condemnation but receiving the redeemed into eternal life.
(Again, for a fuller explanation, see our "What We Believe" page or our "Doctrine" page.)
Q. Who is leading the church?
A. We are led by a group of men called Elders. We recognize the necessity and wisdom of more than one elder and the requirement that they all be equal in authority. We also appoint Deacons as required as they help the Elders in areas of practical ministry
Q. Is there a nursery?
A. We do not have a separate nursery room. However, our church encourages everyone in the family to be present and participate in worship. We don't want you to feel like your baby or child is not welcome during our church service. We know that young children can be a little wiggly or slightly noisy, for this reason we are very tolerant of some noise that babies, toddlers or young children often make. We would like you to be comfortable keeping your children of all ages with you during our worship and message.
Some suggestions for bringing babies and young children: You are welcome to bring your stroller in to church with you, or your baby's car seat, or lay out a blanket for young ones to play on. Some of our families with young children like to sit at a few tables behind the rows of seats. This way their children can color, play, or eat at the table throughout the service. You are welcome to step in and out of the service as necessary to attend to your child's needs as well. A special note to moms with babies: if you would like to take a little break from "baby holding" there are always several moms and grandmoms in our church who would love to hold your baby while you relax and enjoy the message awhile.
We understand and we welcome you to come and worship with us bringing your babies, toddlers and/or children in tow.
